Prayer for Snow

Great Spirit, that which moves all that which moves
It is chilly and I am concerned
I share this with you,
Trusting in your Wisdom.

We are still without Snow
Here in the North lands by the Sea.
I am worried for the animals, the plant people
For Mother Earth has no blanket.

Great Spirit, that which moves all that which moves
I am most grateful for the winter
The chance to slow down, taking time to reflect.
Please may we have Snow~

Great Spirit, that which moves all that which moves
Thank you.
I feel Blessed, trusting in your Wisdom.
Trusting in the changing Seasons.

Snow, Snow Come and Play

Thank you Snow,
Great Creator, thank you for this beauty
First snow of the season.
Happy does it make us.
The way it lays a blanket
Of kindness,
Come out and Play it sings.
Great Creator, does it delight you as well?
This first snow?
There is lurking so much magic
In the fluff of it all.
So many different shapes!
All come together in Harmony.
A whisper of silence and Peace,
Showing us the way it could be.
Perhaps if we fell from the sky?
Great Creator, Snow Goddess
Thank you, for this First Snow.
This covering of gladness and Mystery.
Thank you, and now I have to go,
It wants me to come play!

Snow Day

Oh, Great Grandfather,
I have listened to the snow
It fell through the night
Heavy and wet.
Great Grandfather
The snow on the trees today
Gave me pause,
For all the People who are
As laden with their burdens.
I know there is a grand purpose
One which I may not understand.
I ask you to take care of the People on the Street
Those without the way to heat their homes
To care for the moms and dads who need to be home today with children
Great Grandfather,
I ask also for the animals and trees,
I worry when I see their branches
Pulled toward the ground under the weight.
I worry too for the little burrowed ones who'll need to dig out.
May you ease their way.
I know that all this snow will bring us moisture,
Deep in the wells of Grandmother Earth.
For her dreams
Will soon come to bloom.
Great Grandfather and Grandmother
I slept well wrapped in the song of snow falling.
Dreams of Peace to lighten my heart.
I am grateful for my life.
Great Grandfather,
Bless and care for us.
Great Granfather and Grandmother,
I send you blessings
For this gift of snow, for this day.
Thank you.

After the Snow - A Prayer for City Services

Oh, the snow did fall
Mother Nature, Winter
A thicker blanket of snow upon the ground
Pray for those that Plow our Streets,
Police and Emergency Vehicles

Watch over them as they do there job
Clearing our streets and watching over
Their fellow Humankind.
Sometimes needing to rush flying
Toward a Hospital.
Or helping someone to a Shelter.

Watch over them
The roads slick with icy
When most of us are home
Work having closed early, no work at all
Out there in the world, watching over us.

Pray for them, as they watch through
The night,
Lights flashing like some distant star
Doing their best to clear the streets
Of snow, piled high.

Watch over and keep them safe
We thank you Mother Nature, Winter, Creator God
Watch over them as they watch over us.
